As Project Manager you will be directly responsible for delivering focussed and innovative solutions to the business units of ING Group that support their Credit Risk management and reporting obligations.

As Project Manager you will be directly responsible for delivering focussed and innovative solutions to the business units of ING Group that support their Credit Risk management and reporting obligations. You, together with your project team, will ensure that all requirements are analysed, approved, developed, tested and communicated by close liaison with internal and external service providers and stakeholders.

This challenging position would suit you if you have highly developed English language communication and project management skills. In addition you can drive the processes involved in the specification and delivery of software, and understand the business issues involved in credit risk processes.

Projects are defined as multidisciplinary (COPAFIT, etc.) activities that deliver specified results to contribute to sponsor's objectives under specific constraints of time, quality and money.

Your responsibilities are to:

  • Enable the delivery of timely, relevant and high quality risk management information to CCRM and other users in ING Group;
  • Co-ordinate the delivery, maintenance and implementation of IT services for CCRM and contributing to the development of Credit Risk Solutions as a department;
  • Act as project manager for system development projects (this includes the set-up of the project organisation and recruitment of the project members);
  • Act as contractor for the delivery of required information, services and applications within agreed budget, time and quality.
  • Document the services required by the sponsor in the form of project plans and conduct the intake for potential projects and project staff;
  • Conduct investigations, (feasibility) studies in order to prepare decision-making processes at senior management level;
  • Judge consequence of changes in policies, procedures, information requirements for your project(s), advise on approach and priority setting and liaise directly with user and customer of the functional owner.

Organisational Context

ING Credit Risk Infrastructure (CRI) is part of Corporate Credit Risk Management (CCRM) and is responsible for providing efficient and effective credit risk management information, the development and maintenance of credit-risk related applications, credit risk data management and the provision of consolidated credit risk reporting and monitoring for all risk management levels of ING Group (including insurance, bank and IIM). Openness in communication and “can do” mentality are important characteristics of the department.

CRI/ Management Information Services (MIS) consists of 50 people and is responsible for facilitating the use of high quality standardized customer and credit risk data to be used by all Business Units within ING Group for portfolio monitoring and measurement purposes as well as Credit Risk, RAROC and regulatory management information and reporting. The role of MIS is twofold: provide service & support and Implementation of new/enhanced functionality.

Personal Profile

You have acquired:

  • A university level of education in business administration or computer science;
  • 1-3 years working experience in a similar position;
  • Fluent command of the English language, both written and verbal; 
  • Strong analytical skills;
  • Working experience in Risk Management, Front Office or IT is advantageous especially for:

o Experience in writing functional designs and/or functional change requests;

o Knowledge of the ING project management and system development methodologies;

o Knowledge of testing approach and execution (complex Data Warehouse);

o Knowledge of underlying technical infrastructure (e.g. SQL, XML, Java, Websphere, etc.).

Furthermore you:

  • Are able to coordinate own activities, to set priorities and to gather information from relevant parties regarding these priorities;
  • Work independently;
  • Take initiative and are willing to pick up other activities where required;
  • Have hands on attitude with a practical approach about how to get things done and at the same time keeping in mind the structural solution;
  • Have no 9-5 attitude;
  • Are communicative, accurate and immune to stress.
