Senior Network Architect - 4128

Job Description:

Interactive Data Pricing and Reference Data is seeking a Senior Network Architect/Engineer to join its Network Engineering Team located in Boxborough, MA. The ideal candidate will be a solid background in networking with excellent troubleshooting skills. It is a fast paced environment that utilizes the latest in network technology to deliver time sensitive financial information to our clients. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide Network architecture expertise. Design and document new network elements in such a way that work may be carried out either by candidate or by more junior staff members.
  • Provide a point of escalation for junior staff members for technical and troubleshooting advice.
  • Communicate issues and solutions in both verbal and written form both to peers and management.
  • Assist system admin groups in attaching new systems to the network and ensuring that proper network configuration are implemented.
  • Research and design new networking solutions based on given requirements
  • Research and evaluate new tools that enhance operation of the network
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network errors and performance problems
  • Install and configure routers, switches, and security devices from various vendors
  • Install and configure IP based circuit and vendor data feeds
  • Install and configure software systems that support the network infrastructure such as network monitoring systems, log monitors, DNS servers, firewalls, and IDS/IPS systems.
  • Assist system admin groups in attaching new systems to the network and ensuring that proper network configuration are implemented.
  • Research and design new networking solutions based on given requirements
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network errors and performance problems
  • Research and evaluate new tools that enhance operation of the network
  • Documenting procedures and changes
  • Participate in an on-call rotation support system
  • Installation and maintenance of systems will occur during evening and weekend hours

Qualifications:

Technical Requirements:Experience with transmission of data using IP multicastExperience with traffic shaping and quality of serviceExperience with optical and sub-rate gigabit ethernet wide area circuitsExperience with Cisco routers and switchesExperience with implementing security through Access Control Lists and FirewallsExperience with dynamic routing protocols on large networksExperience with SNMP and network management softwareStrong familiarity with TCP and UDP protocols, analyzing packet tracesExcellent troubleshooting skillsExcellent communications skill is both written and oral formFamiliarity with the installation and support of telecommunications circuitsFamiliarity with Windows and Linux Education/Training Required:BS/BACCNP or demonstrable equivalent knowledge  Preferred Experience:5 –7 years experience supporting a Cisco based network Interactive Data is an Equal Opportunity Employer
