ROLE:
 
Promote and apply  Global Technology policy, architectures and standards that support appropriate risk, cost, performance and resilience by:

• Working with projects, programmes and other initiatives to shape and steer solutions towards strategic end-states as defined by architectures and standards
• Setting and maintenance of quality standards for architectures supporting processes and methods
• Establishing and maintaining effective technology governance processes and methods
• Ownership of key systems in support of architecture governance processes and methods
• Manage escalations in relation to technology decision making process
• Engagement with company initiatives as required ensuring technology governance is appropriately represented

 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

• Ownership, promotion and development of the Approved Product Set for Global Operation
• Ownership, promotion and development of the Enterprise Design Authority for Global Operation
• Ownership, promotion and development and systems and tools used in support of the Global governance operations
• Working with the architecture community and domain teams to ensure that architectures, standards, patterns and principles are understood and applied as part of governance processes
• Engagement with global initiatives as required ensuring technology governance is appropriately represented
• Engage key stakeholders in Clusters and global functions to understand business environment, strategies operational architectures and priorities and reflect in the appropriate governance of IT activities
• Operation of the Approved Product Set, including timely, accurate and appropriate up to date information, and clear accountabilities
• Operation of the Enterprise Design Authority
• Contribution to and ownership of other Design and Architecture Governance activities as required (e.g. Global Architecture Council, Infrastructure Design Authority)
• Develop and maintain working relationships with other areas of Technology to ensure effective IT Governance and Controls (e.g. Risk and Governance, Information Security)
• Establishing and maintaining effective technology governance processes and methods
• Ownership of key systems in support of architecture governance processes and methods
• Manage escalations in relation to technology decision making process

 
REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in IT or equivalent
• Good general knowledge of retail & commercial banking technology portfolio
• At least 5 years of experience in IT strategy development
• Knowledge of best-practice governance, architecture frameworks and solutions
• Knowledge of the development life cycle and methods
• Experience of an IT build/run area
• Knowledge of technology investment
• Knowledge of governance principles
• Ability to operate and influence effectively at all levels using strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills combined with subtlety and resilience
• Innovative and creative thinker able to assess complex issues that span business and technology
• Able to structure Governance for enterprise-wide technology selection, high-level solution design and strategic alignment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
