Summary:

An international provider of banking and insurance services has an opening for an experienced underwriter to join their team in London. A major challenge of the job is to provide fair and balanced underwriting decisions using the minimum amount of evidence necessary.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will underwrite the following products on a daily basis:

-Life Assurance

-Critical Illness Benefit

-TPD

-Income Protection

-Waiver of Premium

-MPPI

They will be required to communicate with clients, distributors and reassurers on a regular basis, and contribute ideas for the continuous improvement of the underwriting and new business process.

Key Skills Required:

The role requires someone with at least 2 years experience of underwriting and good numerical skills. Knowledge and capability with Microsoft Office is essential and previous use of image and workflow systems is desirable. The company has a sophisticated initial underwriting system which assesses the straightforward cases therefore the jobholder will only be expected to underwrite the more complex applications.
