The European Economist for IFR Markets Rates Europe will be responsible for providing a high standard of original commentary and analysis on the European economic releases and related markets subjects within the single currency, the accession countries and possibly further a field. The analyst will need to liaise with customers, sales and the product development team to ensure the marketplace is receiving a quality and market sensitive/relevant product. Scope of the position - - Produce original and authoritative analysis to the service.
- Maintain standards to ensure overall quality of commentary and analysis.
- Work with customers product development to communicate features and benefits of products and to ensure product meets market requirements on an ongoing basis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Writing - Write original commentary and analysis on economic releases and related issues
- Maintains accurate and extensive records
- Stay abreast of developing global market trends
Customer relations - Become/be a recognized market expert
- Support customers and vendors in region and globally, as required
Sales support - Customer and vendor training as required
- Contribute to collateral pieces to be used for sales or marketing purposes.
Qualifications & Experience: - Experience preferably in banking, corporate, journalistic company
- Honours degree (or equivalent) in Economics, a quantitative background would be a benefit
- Solid understanding of the Government bond, FX and equity markets
- Strong writing and editorial skills.
- Ability to context market evolution and movements into original commentary and analysis.
- Strong inter-personal skills
