This role will provide the prime source of conference delegate and awards dinner attendee revenue within Europe. Working closely with the Events & Reports Marketing teams this will make a major contribution to the growth of the conference, reports and awards businesses.

Supporting the Telemarketing Manager in selling across the business's one-off products (MRs, Conferences, Awards Dinners and Reprints), this role is focused on the sales of Conference Delegate places. The Conferences Telemarketing Executive will be responsible for both prospecting and closing delegate sales opportunities in Europe and for growing revenue profitably across Thomson Reuters’ conference and awards dinner series.

This role will provide the prime source of conference delegate and awards dinner attendee revenue within Europe. Working closely with the Events & Reports Marketing teams this will make a major contribution to the growth of the conference, reports and awards businesses. 

  • Sell products as above in order to Maintain and grow revenues in line with targets set by Sales Manager
  • Manage prospect lists and cold call contacts
  • Use own initiative to identify potential attendees using the conference programme, competitive events, internet and internal databases
  • Make 100+ sales calls per day
  • Gain and maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of existing and forthcoming events through regular face-to-face meetings with Editorial and Events Marketing teams
  • Negotiate at a senior level on behalf of and in the best interests of Thomson Reuters
  • Submit timely and accurate forecasts and reports to Telemarketing Manager
  • Work on ad hoc projects as required by the Telemarketing Manager

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Telesales skills
  • Experience of, and appetite for, making high-volume sales calls
  • IT Literate - Word, Powerpoint, Excel
  • Degree preferable but not essential
  • Personable with good interpersonal skills
  • European language preferable but not essential
  • Well organized
