To facilitate the quick and efficient turn around of credit applications and annual reviews for and on behalf of the relationship managers and product lines directly, covering all credit analysis, monitoring of regular financial information and all legal issues.

Job description: Summary

• Preparation of credit files on behalf of the FIG relationship teams, GEDS and FICC to advise on suitable/acceptable structures for new facilities, achieving a consistently high standard for credit files prepared and ensuring reviews and renewals are undertaken by their due dates.

• To facilitate the quick and efficient turn around of credit applications and annual reviews for and on behalf of the relationship managers and product lines directly, covering all credit analysis, monitoring of regular financial information and all legal issues.

Main responsibilities

• Analysis of financial information leading to the processing of credit applications for Non-Bank Financial Institution (NBFI) clients, including primarily insurance companies, regulated and unregulated funds and other entities in this sector with a very wide geographical reach (Europe ex-France, Middle East and Africa).

• Liaising with marketing teams within CORI/FIG and, where necessary, their clients to discuss structuring of a variety of facilities.

• Reviewing credit applications received by the division from overseas branches seeking approval for exposure to local subsidiaries of target and non-target NBFI clients.

• Preparation of credit memos relating to events such as breaches/amendment of covenants, general facility amendments and excess requests.

• Similarly for annual reviews of existing credit relationships, ensuring that these are handled in a timely manner and any backlogs maintained at acceptable levels.

• Assisting the relationship managers in building client business by producing credit based solutions to any problem applications.

• Instructing Legal department and assisting in the negotiation process of ISDA/CSA and other documentation.

• Undertaking due diligence of accounts when necessary and assisting the relationship managers in this process for their clients, visiting those clients as necessary.

• Monitoring of industry trends and individual client financial information as required.

• Investigation of sundry credit issues instigated by the front office or other support areas within SG.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education

• Master in finance, engineering or business studies

Past experience

• Proven experience in credit analysis

• Experience in finance institutions, preferably investment banking

Technical skills

• Proven analytical, computer and interpersonal skills as well as exceptional writing, communication and presentation skills are required.

• It will involve working in a fast paced and demanding environment. It requires an individual who has a strong interest and understanding of financial markets.

Languages

• Fluent English

• French an advantage
