Our Client, a global investment bank is recruiting a senior finance professional to join the finance project team, responsible for implementing a new general ledger system. Working closely with the global project team and product control for the Asia Pacific region, your primary responsibilities will include the following:

<LI> Represent the product control team to review the accounting system in accordance with group policies

<LI> Work with the central Hong Kong project team to ensure the appropriate engines that: a) define the accounting entry generated to the general ledger and b) transforms the accounting entry for use in the new general ledger, can fulfill business requirements 

<LI> Work with central IT and Finance to help build the appropriate models/engines mentioned above

<LI> Work with appropriate units to ensure models are in accordance with global group standards

<LI> Ensure the models can support all the investment banking products

<LI> Ensure that all products are supported by the appropriate accounting schemes

<LI> Work with the General Ledger Mapper and the functional team to ensure that every single accounting entry can be mapped in the GL and covers the specific functional requirement of the investment banking division

<LI> Testing of the models/engines above

<LI> Liaise with users regarding approval of the models

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with strong treasury product exposure. Sound knowledge of IFRS is essential, as is a good working knowledge of system generated accounting entries. A background in project management or finance system implementation is highly desirable but not essential. Strong presentation and interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to run a team and work independently are also imperative to success within this role.
