This opportunity is with a rapidly expanding Investment Management business with a strong and secure standing in the Asia and International market.

As part of a small regional compliance team based in Hong Kong, the Director of Compliance will have overall responsibility for all aspects of investment compliance activities, in addition to the management of a variety of projects throughout the region.

Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer for the region, the Director of Compliance will develop and be empowered to influence the business on investment compliance procedures and policies for II0-HK and all local specific regulations throughout the region. The Director will also establish a framework and implement risk based monitoring plans and audit programs for a rapidly growing trading portfolio management business. In addition to the day-to-day and project responsibilities of this role, the Director will also be involved in the training and assessment of other staff within the regional compliance team.

To qualify for this highly influential role, candidates must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A detailed knowledge of the investment industry and international financial markets.
  • An analytical / audit preferably legal background with demonstrated experience in dealing with regulators, financial intermediaries, compliance and risk management operations.
  • The ability to prioritise and a highly organized approach combined with a desire to achieve will also be essential.

As a regional role this opportunity will provide the opportunity for travel, if desirable, in addition to the opportunity to take on multiple market coverage. Interfacing with a global head office, this role will also provide exposure to international markets.
